Building on its successes in both Cloud and IP Telephony and capitalising on the rapid increase in demand for hosted technology by Australian enterprises, Amcom Telecommunications Limited, today announced an agreement with Cisco that will position it to deliver Cisco’s Hosted Collaboration Solution (“HCS”) into the Australian market.
HCS is Cisco’s enterprise-grade Unified Communications platform which represents the next generation of collaboration technology. It allows customers to unify their communications and deliver them with enterprise-grade security via the Cloud, over the Amcom National Network.
Amcom’s CEO, Clive Stein, said: “This solution complements our existing offering and gives our enterprise customers the ability to unify all of their communications, including telephony and video conferencing, instant messaging, presence and having the ability to access them in real-time across any location or device. HCS also enables employers to capitalise on the transition to Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) workplaces and supports the shift to a more mobile workforce.”
Importantly, HCS offers customers a compelling reason to transition from legacy on-premise systems, to a hosted or cloud delivery model. The move not only provides immediate cost benefits, but allows enterprises to deploy new technologies faster, and turn-up capacity and add new services on an as-required basis.
Amcom’s CEO, Clive Stein, added: “HCS represents the next step for organisations that require the advanced features and flexibility of a Cloud based solution. HCS will be particularly attractive to a significant portion of the Australian telephony market with on-premise Cisco Call Manager Solutions.”
The agreement is effective immediately and services will be available to existing and new customers from around June 13. Amcom is already in advanced discussions with a number of anchor clients.
Amcom’s CEO, Clive Stein, said: “This contract is an important part of our strategy to offer customers IT and Communications-as-a-Service, delivered over our national data network. The HCS platform will give enterprise customers the capability to achieve better business outcomes, both operationally and financially, and provide their employees with a set of industry leading communication tools.”
Richard Kitts, vice president of Cisco Australia and New Zealand, said: “We are delighted to be teaming up with Amcom, as our vision for the market and business models are extremely complementary. Amcom has long been recognised for its delivery of innovative customer solutions and is a trusted brand with corporate and government customers.”
