Awarded contract to provide data services to all Northern Territory Government agencies and schools.
2009
Amcom launches national service offering to all Australian businesses. Amcom awarded Best Telecommunications Company of the Year by Australian Telecom Magazine. Amnet receives highly commended award as the nations second best ISP in Australia at the PC Authority Best Tech Awards.
2008
Amcom opens its Melbourne office, wins Best Communications Solution Small Business Award at ATUG and is recipient of Telecommunications Award at WAITTA for its Gigabit Ethernet Network. Amnet was announced the third best ISP in Australia in the PC Authority Reliability and Service Awards. Amcom updates its ISO Certification to ISO9001:2008.
2007
Amcom wins Best Communications Solution for Large Business at ATUG, deploys DWDM network in Perth, acquires Peopletel business and opens it’s fourth Perth office.
2006
Amnet launches ADSL2+ to Perth exchanges, installs TDM voice switch, acquires 20% stake in iinet, completes SABRENet rollout.
2005
Amcom acquires ISP Arachnet and wins the contract to build SABRENet, a fibre-optic broadband network linking major research & education sites in metropolitan Adelaide, awarded Best Communications Solution at ATUG and achieves ISO9001:2000 Certification.
2004
Amcom extends Perth network to Rockingham, acquires Internet Service Provider Wired City, receives Infrastructure Award and Telecommunications Award at the 2004 WAITTA Awards.
2003
Amcom installs first DSLAM, acquires Amnet business and is awarded Carrier of the Year at the Australian Telecommunications User Group Awards.
2002
IP1 – Perth to Melbourne fibre optic cable rollout is completed.
2001
Amcom installs SDH network ring.
2000
Amcom engages Perth and Adelaide on high speed fibre connectivity (10Mb to 100Mb).
1999
Amcom launches Australia’s first Ethernet based Metropolitan Area Network, Amcom Telecommunications Limited is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and opens an office in Adelaide.
1998
Amcom is awarded its Telecommunications Carrier Licence and commenced its fibre-optic network rollout in Perth.
